Never mind the tribulation begins when the antimessiah confirms a covenant with Israel and that did not happen at any time in october 2008.

I believe we entered Daniel's 70th Week on the 21st of October 2008. That Date was the Last Great Day of the Feast of Tabernacles. Daniel's 70th Week will last for 7 years and will end on the Last Great Day of the Feast of Tabernacles, which falls on the 5th of October 2015.
If I have understood correctly the rapture will take place on the 12th of December 2008.
The 12th of December 2008 is the 7th Biblical Sabbath Day after the 21st of October 2008.
1. 28th (29th Tishri) October 2008
2. 6th (8th Chesvan) November 2008
3. 13th (15th Chesvan) November 2008
4. 20th (22nd Chesvan) November 2008
5. 27th (29th Chesvan) November 2008
6. 5th (8th Kislev) December 2008
7. 12th (15th Kislev) December 2008
Its interesting to note that just under 2 weeks into Daniel's 70th Week, the Man of Sin was revealed. I believe this to be President Elect Obama.
He was declared the President Elect at 0600 hrs (Jerusalem time) on the 5th (7th Chesvan) of November 2008. That's just a Day before the 2nd Sabbath into Daniel's 70th Week.
Also Obama's eligibility to be the President Elect is going before the USSC Justice on the 5th of December 2008. That Date just happens to be the 8th of Kislev, the 6th Sabbath Date into Daniel's 70th Week.
Another point to note is that from the 12th of December 2008 to the 20th January 2009 there are exactly 40 Days.
Also experts are anticipating tidal waves and earthquakes around the 12th of December 2008.

Finally, if the Two Witnesses start their 1260 Day Ministry in Jerusalem on the 12th of December, they will be killed on the 25th of May 2012. They will be resurrected 42 hours later on the 27th of May 2012. That Day just happens to be the Day of Pentecost for that Year.
