If one fails to see a shooting star when one prays for one as a "sign" then continue going back to look for them (that will give a demon an opening to give you a false prophecy) --- Since there are tens of thousands of meteors a year it is not that rare.
When one is in heaven there nis no direction east (or any other direction)
Matthew 12
38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Ezekiel 8
15 Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
16 And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

Joe Hoyle (8 Dec 2008) "Shooting Star(s)"
Hello,
I read Calvin Montgomery's shooting star post with some interest: http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/dec2008/calvinm125-1.htm
Now, I do claim to be a sky watcher, and I'm constantly on the lookout for anything and everything in the sky, especially at night..
Until recently, I hadn't spotted a shooting star in many years.
The last one that stands out to me was one that I just happened to spot back in the 80's or 90'.
That one was a monster one--the biggest one that I have ever seen.
It was a lime greenish yellow in color, it was long and it was wide, and it was close by--a biggie.
So to fast forward to the present time.
I like to go out to a certain scenic overlook on the Natchez Trace Parkway often, to park and discuss things with the Lord Jesus, while viewing the wide expanse of sky.
So one night this past September I'm out there, doing the above.
I was leaning against the side of my car, while facing to the west.
I was wondering about the Rapture and how far off it was, and I decided to ask the Lord Jesus that if the Rapture was within the next 12 months to give me some sort of a sign of concurrence--like dropping a shooting star straight down right in front of my eyes, without having to turn my heading after catching a glimpse of it out of the corner of my eye; which is usually the case.
Well as you might guess, nothing happened--that night.
So, two or three weeks passed, an after I had been out there several more times since that one particular night.
OK, so I'm out there on another night, and this time I'm leaning across the car roof, and facing east, thinking about nothing in particular at the time.
When all of a sudden, here comes this shooting star out of the eastern sky, coming straight down, right in front of my eyes, without having to turn my head at all--just right in front of my eyes.
This one was the usual white In color, and visible for about two seconds.
My prior asking for a shooting star Rapture sign immediately came to mind to me, and the Holy Spirit seemed to speak to me and said--"within 9 months".
Nine months = three seasons.
Seasonal time frames seems to be important to the Lord Jesus in His Scripture.
Now I don't know for sure whether I'm right or wrong on this being from the Holy Spirit.
I do know that I have been right many times in the past on things from the Holy Spirit.
But I just decided to pass this along, after having though about it for awhile, just for your considerations
.
P.S. Evangelist Oden Hetrick, in telling of his visits to Heaven, said that the Lord God sits on His Throne in the great Jerusalem Temple (800 miles wide x 300 miles high) facing EAST.
Plus, he said that the River of Life flows out of New Jerusalem, through one of the three east gates--as also spoken about in Ezekiel.
Also, the star pointing the wise men to His first coming, came from the--east.
And of course the Scripture speaks of His coming as being like lighting, from east to west.
So I'm thinking that key Heavenly signs should be considered to come out of the--EAST.
That's what I think.
